Dr. Charmaine Borg is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the University of Groningen. She is a certified psycho-sexologist, and an expert in clinical and experimental psychology. Her interests include disgust, sexual arousal, disgust and psychopathology, and psychological sexual dysfunctions.
In this episode, we start by talking about sexual arousal and what triggers it in people. We then discuss sexual disgust: what it is; what triggers it; and how people can experience it even with long-term partners. We talk about vaginismus and dyspareunia. We discuss whether low sexual arousal can be a sexual dysfunction. Finally, we talk about Dr. Borg’s current research interests.
